Each Day One Sentence, day #7

Hello Everyone!

Today I am talking about “passé composé” which to somehow is equivalent to present perfect in English grammar.

It means “Composed past” which is because it is composed of two parts:

Part 1: the conjugation of verb “etre” or “avoir” in present simple

Part 2: “participe passé” which is past participle in English.

Some examples:

  • J’ai déjà mangé.
  • Tu es arrivé où?
  • Je suis allé au restaurant.
  • Maman est mort aujourd’hui, ou peut-être hier. (Albert Camus)
